Our first professional photo shoot

Posted by Ekaterina Milis on

I am so excited to share with you guys our amazing professional photo shoot of our first kids clothes collection. To be honestly that was my first experience to work with such a little kids of 2 and 5 years old.

Shooting kids is not the same as shooting adults. Grown ups will just do whatever you say. But with kids a different approach is required. And you never know what to expect. The child can be smiling but super cranky during the photo session. Or you just try to play a game and think that they’re going to love it but they hate it. So you have to be very flexible and ready to roll with it.

I prepared all girls dresses a two week before the shoot. Also the important part was to prepared dress shoes and accessories to each dress. I hung all of our dresses, shoes and accessories and started to piece them together. And I found a great photographer Katherine from Ezoomk Photography for this photo shoot.

We went to the beautiful Bryn Athyn Cathedral. This is situated on a hill overlooking the picturesque Pennypack Creek Valley in the borough of Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania. The Bryan Athyn has the most gorgeous stairs and walk way that we just had to shoot.

We took a lot of beautiful pictures. And our kids was very strong for 3 hours of photo shoot.

Usually kids have short attention spans. And we tried to do a pictures and change the clothes very fast. Because it’s way easier to get a good pictures at the beginning of the session, when the kids are usually a bit more cooperative. They haven’t found out yet that they can spend time just playing and we’ll be cool with it.

This process was not easy. Because after few hours of photo shoot our kids was tired. They started walk and run away from us. It was a little hard to put them together.

I want to say that it was fun to make pictures of our first clothes collection and work with a little models.

And it really doesn’t have to be stressful shooting kids. Just need to be patient, flexible and make it fun!!!
